The IGU Tourism Commission is very proud to announce that our former Chair, Professor Alan A. Lew has been awarded the IGU's prestigious Lauréat d'Honneur 2022; this is the first time that the Lauréat has been awarded to a geographer specialising in tourism. The IGU Lauréat d’Honneur was established to recognise individuals who have achieved particular distinction or who have rendered outstanding service in the work of the IGU or in international geography and environmental research.
